VIOLIN Michel Boris ZAITZEFF studied with illustrious professors such as Liev ZAITZEFF, Josef GINGOLD, Ivan GALAMIAN, Franco GULLI and Tadeusz WRONSKI. His chamber music studies were with Daniel GUILET, Menahem PRESSLER, Gyorgy SEBOK and Janos STARKER, at Indiana University where he received his Bachelor of Music and his Master of Music. Professionally, Michel Boris ZAITZEFF was a founding member of the Hamilton String Quartet and a member of various Canadian orchestras including the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and the C.B.C.Radio Orchestra as Assistant Concertmaster and Concertmaster. As well, he has toured with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. As a soloist, he has performed with Canadian and French orchestras and has given recitals and chamber music concerts in Canada, the U.S.A., Mexico, Italy, Germany and France. Michel Boris ZAITZEFF has been professor of violin in various universities and conservatories in Canada and France. He is now professor of violin at the Conservatoire National de Musique in Roubaix (France) and at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen (Germany). As well, he is a regular Visiting Professor of Violin at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. He is also a jury member of Canadian, American and French competitions and gives masterclasses in Canada, the U.S.A., Germany, Sweden and France. Among his activities, he is the founder and director of the Loyola International Violin Institute in New Orleans, Louisiana. As a musical humanitarian, ZAITZEFF also regularly works to introduce music to children in cities and villages in Haiti.
